Before: as lived in by the previous owners
Before: Tub and Tiles
Before: Under the Sink
Before: Rotted Floor
Before: Rotted Floor
Nathaniel takes a swing at the wall
Ralph digs in
The whole family gets involved in demolition
Out with the toilet
Out with a... Wall??
Yep - ripping it out
Even Nathaniel can handle this
Digging out the old tub
Good-bye shallow bowl, short length, slow flush... toilet
Good-bye cold, metal tub
CAREFUL - save the vanity
Out with the walls... AND the floor!
Wipe them out... ALL OF THEM!!!
I've been working on the railroad
last peice of tile & first peice of floor
Now... on to step 2... the rest of the floor.
Rip it out
Looks like the vanity once had a leak
Carrying it out is all work and no play
We need bigger crow bars
We're getting there... that hole ain't big enough yet
Go Nathaniel, Go!
Go Nathaniel, Go!
More Power
Bigger
and Bigger
and still Bigger
This is no time to relax Steven
..
This old plumbing needs to go
But there's a lot of it
How many Cope's does it take to...
The hack saw won't cut it. We need *grunt* More Power!
Angle Grinder... all the way baby
Come-on Drew... cut that last pipe free.
Yeah - that might get in the way.
Are we ready for a 160 lb. pipe to break off in our hands?
I hope so.
Good Idea steven
We'll, while those guys putz around in the Basement, we'll finish this
Don't drop it.
It's heavy
Finally
Gee's Steven
Clean off those Joists and get 'em ready for new 15/32 plywood
..
The Trailer is getting a little full.
Yup - Getting full
So that is what "a ton of stuff" looks like ;-)
..
Plumbing Supplies
Drew preps the new Drain Pipe
End of Day 1... cap that sewer stack... don't wanna smell that.
New Floor is in... New drain stack is chalked on the wall.
Waterlines await new 3/4 supplies
The drain end of the tub supply lines go here
That goes up to the vanity and extends towards the toilet, tub & kitchen
AH - At Last... The sewer is in & the Laundry has been moved.
A little closer now (go back and forth fast & get dizzy)
New 3/4 supplies are in for the kitchen & toilet
Whose the man?!
With 3/4, it'll take longer to get hot water, but pressure won't be an issue
Laundry is hooked up & Supply lines go up to head of tub
..
The new floor
There used to be a sink & a medicine cabinet here
Floor & plumbing looks good
A few extra screws really tighten things up
Drew puts 'em in as fast as Tracey can spackle them
Faster... Faster... Faster...
Thanks Mom - you rock!
Just about finished with this part
Drew & Tracey lay vinyl... ohhhh... ahhhhh...
That flange is just begging for a toilet
Tub Head supply & two 15 amp GFCI outlets for the Pump & in-line Heater
..
The tub finally arrives
Now - is it water tight?
whooo... it fits
But it needs to be leveled
Its more of an art than a science
Good enough for government - actually - it's perfect
Greenboard is back in.
and Dad got the new switches, feeds & 4-wire in. Thanks Dad!!!
..
Big pile of sticks
Little pile of mulch
Special Thanks to Mom, Dad, Steven, Ralph, Steve, Grandpa & Nathaniel for all your help!!
